Venison & Blue Cheese Burgers with Mushrooms

A nice twist on an otherwise boring deer burger!



  1. Melt butter in medium skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic and saute until onions are translucent. Stir in mushrooms and saute until soft. Transfer to medium bowl and allow to cool. Add ground venison, blue cheese, bread crumbs, salt and pepper and mix with your hands to blend. Form 4 large patties. Grill, pan fry or broil until browned. Grilling is recommended. Be very careful not to overcook. Venison is very lean and cooks quicker than beef. Add to bun with lettuce, tomato and your choice of other condiments.
